Transaction Security
Feel Secure while
paying at SMS Markaz!.
![]()
Security is probably one of the most significant concerns for both the shopper and the retailer during an online transaction. In reality an online transaction is probably more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted over the telephone or by fax, as the information transmitted online is highly encrypted using complicated logarithm combinations. To ensure the security we at SMS Markaz do not save the credit card numbers in our database, and we use the third party payment processing system of RBS WorldPay.com, PayPal.com and Google Checkout
At SMS Markaz, we
process your order request (before the payment page) on
SSL Secure server. The privacy of communications between
you (your browser) and our servers is ensured via
encryption. Encryption scrambles messages exchanged
between your browser and our online secure server.
Encryption makes it impossible for unauthorized people
to view information traveling between computers, it is
therefore very unlikely that anyone read this page as it
traveled across the network.
There are two general indications of a secured web
page
1) Check the web page URL
Normally, when browsing the web, the URLs (web page
addresses) begin with the letters ''http''. However,
over a secure connection the address displayed should
begin with ''https'' - note the ''s'' at the end
2) Check for the ''Lock'' icon
In order to ensure a connection is secure, your browser
will inform you visually by displaying a lock in the
status bar of your browser.

The SMS Markaz payment system in association with WorldPay.com uses a combination of both established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data. Furthermore, our public web servers are certified by Thawte, a public Certificate Authority, ensuring that both the shopper and retailer can have confidence that nobody can impersonate WorldPay to obtain confidential information.
Transaction
Encryption
The transfer of the purchase details from the SMS Markaz
site to Worldpay are encapsulated using our own
encrypted and digitally-signed protocol. This uses a
combination of standard methods such as PGP, RSA and MD5
to ensure that the information passed is secure and
tamper-proof.
Security for the
Shopper
Any communication between the shopper and WorldPay is
also encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the
shopper's browser using TLS or 128 Bit SSL. Shopper are
also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a
"card not present" environment, by their card issuers.
The card issuers provides the right for shopper to
dispute a transaction if the goods/services did not
arrive or if the card was used fraudulently.
Data Storage
Data storage on WorldPay systems, and the communication
between WorldPay and the worldwide banking networks, is
regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure a
secure transaction environment. We also ensure that we
stay up-to-date with the latest versions of any
third-party code we use, and continually review our own
proprietary code.
Privacy
You should be assured that the information you
provide during an online transaction is treated
confidentially, and not disclosed to a third party. SMS
Markaz's payment processor WorldPay has adopted a set of
guidelines to protect our users' privacy, which comply
with the Data Protection Act 1998. We do not provide or
sell your details to third parties unless you have
specifically requested that we do so, in order that
these advertisers and/or third parties can offer you
information, goods and services that may be of interest
to you.
